What are the big issues in St Albans?

The lead story in one of this week's local papers is 'Lost' car returned after two year wait. It's comforting to know that NCP is so community minded (especially as I donated £8.50 to their good cause yesterday).

Meanwhile, St Albans Council is spending its diminishing budget on press adverts to encourage residents to have their say on the future of the city by attending a series of public meetings. The 'Shaping Our Community' consultation wants local opinions on the scale, location and type of development needed in the District, including housing, schools, infrastructure, retail, leisure, community facilities, transport and business development.

Is the long term planning strategy for St Albans more important than missing pets, found vehicles and minor motoring offences? If you think it is - see http://goo.gl/wlQOO for details of public meetings and opportunities to meet planning officers at key locations in the district from today until 4 Feb. You can also give your views online. It's your city :)

Welcome to the All About St Albans blog

Hello. Working on the basis of 'better late than never', we've joined the blogosphere.  At allaboutstalbans.com, we've been working our socks off to be the definitive, independent guide to St Albans since 2008.  Along the way, we've provided lots of information to help you have more fun by letting you know what's onlisting events and activities for all interests and ages, providing online ticket sales and restaurant booking services and giving away a great prize to our reviewer of the month.  It's been a bit of a one-way conversation, so now we're here to have a chat and find out what you think about all things St Albans.  We hope to hear from you soon!
